How To Win Friends and Influence People: A Book Review

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.

It has surely been some months since I last posted. Not trying to deflect the blame from myself (I would never), but my humans decided to be absurdly occupied with work, exams, and the sort. Me personally, I think it’s complete rubbish.

During these months, I have dipped into various books, poetry, and movie adaptations.

A book that has certainly tickled my fancy, an oldie, but it is definitely a goodie: “How to win friends and influence people” by Dale Carnegie.

What is quite impressive about this book is that it was written in the 1930s, but still relevant and encourages people to revert back to the absolute basics on maintaining human relationships.

I know I’m a superior bird, but sometimes it’s useful to get a few tips and tricks on how to handle human interaction.

The most important lessons from the book are to know the names of the people you interact with, show a genuine interest in them and never criticise.

Always look to see how you can give them something and making them feel important whilst looking to meet your goals and expectations, because humans value nothing better than to know they too are valued.

I think these past few months have made me even wiser than I already am.

If you haven’t read it yet, do try it and let me know how you liked it. Judging by the amount of love and adoration my humans shower on me whilst running around obeying my slightest bidding, I think reading the book from cover to cover has really helped!
